As for the
marja, in Zaidism
taqleed to a
mujtahid is not considered religiously obligatory; rather it is simply permissible. That being the case, there is no established institution of
marjiat with representatives,
kutub ar-risaa`il and the like. We have living mujtahids to whom one is free to do
taqleed, but it is up to that individual to decide that. [Ref
