The age of Aisha

Regarding A'isha's age, Zaydi sources range from six to nine. [Ref. Al-Bahr az-Zakhkhaar and Al-Amaali al-Ithnayniyya]] None of our imams or scholars has doubted the authenticity of these reports. Allama Majid-deen al-Mu'ayyadi (ra) inclines more to the view that she was nine.

Thanks for your question! Most of the references to A'isha's age are narrated on her authority. I can't recall all of the chains in Zaydi sources and whether any of the Ahl al-Kisa narrated it. Zaydi sources differ as to whether the marriage was contracted at nine or consummated.

Thank you for your question! Consummating the marriage three years after marriage is not something that is seen as necessary unless the consummation of such marriage would be a harm to the wife. By that, we mean that there is no rule that says that the marriage at the age of nine is consummated at twelve. That withstanding, we don't have any narrations that says that the marriage was consummated at twelve.
