Imam Yahya ibn Hamzah and Taraweeh

 Salam Alaikum, I found some sources that Imam Yahya ibn Hamzah AS approved Taraweeh can you shed some light into this matter? Jazak Allah 



the great Zaydi Shia Imam Yahya ibn Hamzah cites a Sunni hadith and an authentic Zaydi hadith (from Musnad Zayd where ‘Ali instructs others how to pray Tarawih!) in support of the legality of Tarawih. He also mentions a famous narration where ‘Ali (during the caliphate of ‘Othman) saw lanterns shining in the mosque (i.e. during Ramadan Tarawih prayers) and said, ‘May Allah have mercy upon ‘Omar, he made our mosques shine with Nour (light). May Allah shine his grave with Nour (light).’ 

It was mentioned in page 183 of Al-Intisar ‘ala ‘Ulama Al-Amsar (الانتصار على علماء الامصار)

akhil kareem, if you ask such a question it is very important that you provide the source, like which edition which volume and which page, that facilitates looking it up.

as for your question that what you stated there is True but it is in the fourth volume of the edition which you can download on ziydia.com and there it is clearly stated on page 181 that there are two opinions on the taraweeh with jamaah, and the first madhab is the madhab of the Itrah which holds to the opinion of its (the prayer in jamaah) Karahah. the second madhab is the one who gave permission for it and it is stated that it is the opinion of abu hanifa and malik and ahmad ibn hanbal after that the Imam states his own ijtihad (that it is permissible) and defends it against critiques. but that doesnt change the fact that the Madhab of the Itrah (the entire Ahl al Bayt in general) is that it is frowned upon.

brother dont look online on obscures webpages what people try to spread, everyone has an agenda, many twelvers use our Imams to convert people to their madhab and many so called pseudo-zaydis try do sunnify the Madhab of the Ahl al Bayt.

brother i apologize for not providing the right reference as i myself am not an expert in  zaydi sources. i just found it in a site i was reading through and decided to ask about it in this site, and i dont blindly believe or follow whatever i see online, theres a reason i ask questions on this site akhi, to find what our imams AS have stated regarding that belief or issue.

Brother you dont need to apologise. it was only a nasihah. As i told you be careful i understand you have to research but there are many non sincere people.

As for your question on Imam Yahya alayhi salam i posted on the other thread a very good explanation of Shaykh al Islam Imam Majd al-Din al-Muayyadi alayhi salam. It shows how the words of Imam Yahya are to be understood.
