Thank you for your question!

There is a general mistrust of this supposed hadith. One of our early scholars, Allama Abul-Hussein Ahmed bin Musa at-Tabari (ra) had a debate with a Sunni who quoted this riwayat. He basically replied that if one accepted the authenticity of this, one would have to admit that those other tens of thousands of Companions are not promised Jannat. This is because the whole point of the Hadith of Asra Mubashara is to say ten Companions are promised Paradise, not the others. Of course, Sunnis hold that all of the Companions are promised Paradise so why limit the number to ten? This points to the possibility that these hadith was indeed concocted later.

Also, among the ten who were supposedly promised Paradise, there were some who fought others. Allama at-Tabari asked the Sunni man "To whom was az-Zubayr's head brought?" The man replied "To Ali". So how can the head of one person promised Paradise be brought to another who was promised Paradise?!

It doesn't make sense. Besides, none of our imams narrate this 'hadith.'

And Allah knows best!
