Questions for new Zaydi was created by salim123123
Salam everybody. I have some questions about Zaydism.
1. Do Zaydis pray like Twelvers? I mean in terms of keeping their hands at their sides and using a turbah?
2. How do Zaydis view Umar, Abu Bakr, and Uthman?
3. In Ramadan, do Zaydis break their fast like Twelvers which is about 20 minutes later than Sunnis do?
Thank you, I am thinking about becoming Zaydi.

Walaykom Al-Salam
1. Yes
2. The Zaidi Imams had varying views, it is up to you to make your informed judgement without insulting, because Imam Ali (a.s) did not do that, however, they are wrong for advancing the seat of caliphate ahead of Imam Ali, as it was his rightful position.
"Eat and drink until the white thread of dawn becomes distinct from the black. Then fast to the night." (Qur'an 2:187)

Salaams!
Thank you for your questions!
1. There are some similarities between the prayer of Twelvers and that of Zaydis. Like Twelvers, Zaydis pray with their arms by the sides and recite the tasbeeh in the last rakat of a three-rakat prayer and the last two rakats of a four-rakat prayer.
However, there re differences as well. Zaydis don't pray on the turbah (however, there is no problem praying on one if the one doing so doesn't believe there is virtue and blessing in doing such). Zaydis don't recite qunuut in every prayer--only Fajr and Witr. Zaydis don't raise the hands in the prayer--except those who raise it in the beginning only. Zaydis don't recite the tasbeehat of ruku loudly. Zaydis recite two tasleem to the right and left, unlike Twelvers. Zaydis don't raise the hands three times after the tasleem like Twelvers.
2. As the brother said, Zaydis typically adopt the policy of reservation (tawaqquf) when it comes to the First Three. We answered this question here here , and here .
3. As for the time to break the fast, we replied here and here .
And Allah knows best!
