As Salam o Alykum brothers !! I hope u guys are fine

Brother i want to ask a question about Abdullah ibne Zubair r.a !! what do zaidi say about him ?? what is your point of view ?
Wa alaykum as salaam!

We are well, thank you!

Abdullah bin Zubayr is not held in a favourable light due to his opposition to ‘Ali, upon him be peace. He is included amongst the Nakitheen whom the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him and his progeny, commanded Ali and the Sahaba to fight. This therefore shows that Ibn az-Zubayr was in the wrong. This is because why would Allah’s Messenger, peace and blessings be upon him and his progeny, command Ali and the Sahaba to fight someone who was correct?

One of our early imams, Imam Yahya bin Abdullah bin al-Hasan (as), said about him:
He avoided reciting the prayers upon Allah’s Messenger, peace and blessings be upon him and his progeny, during the sermon for forty Friday prayers. When the people questioned him about it, he said: “He has an evil small family. If I were to pray upon him or remember him, they would stretch out their necks and drink of his remembrance. Therefore, I dislike to make them happy or bring delight to their eyes.”

That account was narrated in the \[I}Maqaatil\[/I] of al-Isfahani. It is also related in the Fara`id as-Simtayn that historian al-Mas’udi and others reported that Ibn az-Zubayr avoided reciting the prayers upon the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him and his progeny, for forty Friday prayers “to thumb his nose” against the Bani Hashim.

Ibn Abil-Hadeed narrated in his Sharh Nahj al-Balagha that Abdullah bin az-Zubayr hated Ali and berated him.

He is also censured for camping his army in the Haram of Mecca. When the forces of the caliph went to pursue him, this led to massive bloodshed within the sacred precincts. This correlates to a well-known hadith where the Prophet, peace and blessings is recorded to have said: ((A ram from Quraysh will deviate (or “apostatise”) in Mecca, and his name will be Abdullah. Upon him will be half the sins of the people)). This hadith is narrated in Musnad Ahmed with an authenticated chain of narration, as well as other books.

And Allah knows best!
