According to our imams, this verse was revealed in connection to Zayd b. Haritha who used to be attributed to the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him and his progeny. Allah revealed this verse as well as Q. 33:5 to indicate that Zayd is not seen as the Prophet's son. Consequently, it was permissible for him to call his grandsons al-Hasan and al-Hussein his sons because the two of them were babies at the time of the revelation of this verse and the verse says {not the father of any of you men}. Babies are not considered 'men'. [Ref. Al-Majmu' al-Mansuuri]

Also, one of our imams, Imam al-Hussein b. al-Qaasim (as) in his Majmu' used this verse as a proof that no one after Rasulullah, peace and blessings be upon him and his progeny, can receive revelation.
