As for money, only "money from business transactions" is mentioned.
Meaning that money received for example: salary from your employer, or as a gift from a relative, are exempt from zakat?

Thanks for your questions!
'Money from business transactions' would also include salaries since this is a transaction due to service. As for gifts, since it is considered a part of one's wealth, it would be included also.

Salam, I've asked a yemeni friend who asked a sheikh there in Yemen and the sheikh said that only the money that is involved in a trade/business is subject to zakat. Thus gifts and salaries aren't. What should I follow?

Thank you for your question! It is my understanding that the zakat is due on all wealth regardless of its source (transaction, salary, gift); however, as I am a translator and not a scholar, you can follow the opinion of the sheikh and the audio classes.
