Assalamu Alaykum wa rahmatullahi wabarakatuh,
I am interested in Zaydi Islam and have already started practicing the madhab. In the Ja'fari fiqh, the shahadatayn are the minimum obligatory acts of tashahhud. Would that be sufficient in salah according to the Zaydi madhab as well?
Secondly, the Ja'fari fiqh doesn't require wudu before ghusl but I have seen discussions on this platform where wudu is part of the ghusl before washing the whole body. Is that an obligation?
Lastly, is istinja necessary again after already washing the private parts after answering the call of nature?
JazakAllahu Khair

wa alaykum as salaa wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuhu!
Thank you for your questions!
1) According to the fiqh text, Al-Mukhtasar al-Mufeed, which we translated as The Beneficial Summary, the obligatory part of the tashahhud is the shahadatayn.
2) If by ritual ablution you mean the same ritual ablution for the prayer in that order, it is not an obligation. According to the same text, the only obligations for the ghusl are intention, rinsing of the nose and mouth, washing (which includes rubbing) of the entire body, and the penetration of water through the hair.
3) As for the necessity of rinsing the private parts for one who has already rinsed them, there is a difference of opinion within the madhhab. One view is that the rinsing of the privates is a part of the wudu. Another opinion is that it is not (Ref. At-Taaj al-Mudhhab).
Hopefully, this answers your questions. And Allah knows best!

JazakAllahu khair!
In regards to question 2, is the ghusl as you described it sufficient for salah, or does wudu need to be performed after?
As for question 3, how do we deal with differences of opinion? As a Ja'fari, one follows the opinion of one marja. But in this case, are either view valid to follow?
Lastly, where can I find the Beneficial Summary?

wa iyyak!
You would have to perform the ritual ablution for the prayer after having performed the ghusl.
As for the differences of opinion, you are welcomed to choose one of the two.
The Beneficial Summary is here . Several years ago, a brother recorded audio lessons on portions of this book. InshaAllah, they will be beneficial to your understanding.

Thank you for your responses, may Allah reward you.
On an unrelated note, I am relatively new to the religion and before my reversion I started wearing studs (not gold) on my ears. I've heard differences of opinion between twelver and sunni scholars on this issue, mostly because its prohibition is based on whether it resembles women or not. Since I live in the west, most males my age have piercings so it's not considered cross-dressing. Do I have to remove them as a practicing Muslim according to Zaydi fiqh?

Thanks for your question! I'm sorry, I can't answer this question, as I am not a mufti or scholar. I'm a simple, humble translator.
I would recommend you contact Ustaadh Mohammed al-Shareef (This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.) with your question.
