What is the ruling on growing the beard in the zaidi madhab ?
Which optimal length should the beard of the muslim man have ?

The ruling for growing a beard is that it is Sunnah. The length of the beard should be as long as the grip of a fist.

It is sunnah to grow the beard four finger width length and to shorten the moustache. It is makkruh for the moustache hair to grow beyond the beginning lip line.
