Sayyid Allama Hamuud b. ‘Abbaas al-Muayyadi

- Is a scholar, scrupulous and God-fearing

- Born 1336 AH in Gharbaan.

- Studied under the tutelage of his brother ‘Abdullah b. ‘Abbaas and read with others.

- Mastered many sciences, especially jurisprudence.

- Was assigned to appoint preachers to “command the good and forbid the evil” in the protectorate of Ibb.

- Appointed preachers and prayer leaders in the congregation mosque, An-Nahrain.

- Serves as the assistant mufti of Yemen.

- Still preaches and gives classes at An-Nahrain Mosque.

- Appointed the construction of various mosques.

- Authored a collection of Friday sermons, known as Ash-Shaa’a al-Madhi. He also authored a collection of hadith in a text called An-Nuur al-Asna in which he extracts hadith from the famous collection, Ash-Shafaa’a al-Aqwaam.
